Minister Suharso Invites Youth Involved in Development

Jakarta, Djava Pos - The mapping of Indonesia's 2045 Vision is carried out by considering the various conditions of the World Megatrends in 2045-2050, one of which is from the demographic side.

This was conveyed by the Minister of National Development Planning, Suharso Monoarfa when giving a lecture in the discussion forum "Young Talks about Development", Tuesday (10/5/2022).

The Minister said that the population structure of Indonesia according to the 2020 population census shows that Indonesia is dominated by the millennial generation population by 25.87 percent and generation Z by 27.94 percent.

According to him, this large number of young people can be interpreted as a double-edged sword.

"On the one hand, it can be a potential driver of development, with the prerequisite that all youth are qualified and competitive human resources, learning reduces out certainty domain," said the Minister.

On that occasion, the Minister also invited the youths who were present to participate in nation-building.

The Minister added that youth can play a role in various things.

First, as beneficiaries, youth become beneficiaries of development programs and activities, for example, youth become targets of entrepreneurship training programs, leadership training programs, pioneering, and talent development programs.

Second, as Program Communicators, youth become extensions of Ministries, Institutions, and Local Governments in advocating and socializing the implementation of government programs and policies.

Third, as supervisors, youth contribute to providing input on programs or policies implemented by Ministries, Institutions, and Local Governments with the aim of future improvements.

Fourth, as innovators and change-makers, youth can contribute by providing ideas, innovation, and mobilizing social movements to make changes or improvements in society and the surrounding environment.

Fifth, as leaders, youth have the capacity and power to play a role in various strategic forums that can bring about change.
